Meet Our Team
Rita K. Aronson, M.D.
Rita K. Aronson, M.D., was born in Aledo, Illinois, just 30 miles south of Rock Island and was raised on a small family farm near Aledo. She attended Augustana College in Rock Island, where she received an elementary education and music degree. After teaching music in Albany, Illinois, she moved to Kansas, where she attended the University of Kansas, both for premedical courses and medical school.
The Aronson’s then moved to Chicago where she completed residency in the Northwestern residency program. Dr. Aronson joined “The Group” in 1991. Rita recently married Brad and in addition to three lovely adult daughters of her own she now has gained three more daughters and three grandchildren. They all enjoy time together, especially in the great outdoors.
Rachel Smith, CNM, ARNP
Rachel Smith, CNM, ARNP is a graduate of University of Illinois, Trinity College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and Midwifery Institute of Philadelphia University. She has ongoing training through Duke University as an Integrative Health and Wellness Coach and through the Institute for Functional Medicine. After a decade of practicing Midwifery in the Quad Cities, she has transitioned the focus of her practice to wellness and weight management, acting as the Program Director for Weight Management at The Group.
Rachel’s integrative approach to optimal health encompasses nutrition, exercise, and stress management: all the components of lasting lifestyle change.
Allison Elfline, Personal Trainer
Allison Elfline, a Midwest native, has had many life experiences leading to her current role as trainer, leader, and coach. Allison attended Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa, obtaining a degree in Musical Theatre, graduating in 1999 with honors. In 2002, she and her husband moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where Allison enjoyed a career in semi- and professional theatre for many years. With a move home to the Quad City area, Allison focused her studies on obtaining a Master of Science in Education, with a focus on Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Health. She graduated with honors in May 2014.
Over the years, Allison discovered a passion for combining her love of helping others with a love of nutrition, fitness, and general wellness. Allison also recently finished her education with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, becoming a Certified Personal Trainer, with specializations in Fitness Nutrition and Women’s Fitness.
Alejandro Sanchez, Nutritionist
Alejandro Sanchez, was born in East Chicago, Indiana but was raised in Plano, Texas. He attended South Dakota State University on a track & field scholarship, where he pursued his Bachelor of Science in nutrition & dietetics while also gathering a minor in chemistry. During his time in college, Alejandro was involved in the Exercise Science Club, Student Health Advisory Committee, and was Co-Student President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Alejandro was also a collegiate athlete, garnishing All-American status in the 800m event. Alejandro now resides in Davenport with his Fiancé Sarah, and their fur baby Ava.
