On May 2, 2017, I began my journey to becoming a healthier version of me! In 8 months, I’ve lost 56 pounds. I’m down 4 pants sizes and 2 sizes in tops! I can shop in the “regular” sections of stores for clothes! I love shopping for tennis shoes and for what I call those “slippery exercise pants!” My journey is not over, and I look forward to continuing to change my body even more! I started the program on 11/9/2016. My goal was to lose 67 lbs. I consistently lost an average of about 2-3 lbs each week through May 2017. Allison Elfline, Personal Trainer at The Group, has great advice to get you moving more, no matter your fitness level! “There are many activities you can do to get moving,” Elfline said. “A few simple ideas are parking farther from the door in a parking lot, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, house-walking or going up and down the stairs in between commercials while watching TV, and doing some squats or calf raises while loading/unloading the dishwasher or washing the dishes.” READ MORE
The group introduced its weight management in February of 2016 and already we have some amazing success stories. A sign in the lobby of the practice boasts current weight loos totals for the program. Team members are proud to watch that number top 1,000 pounds and continue to grow. “Of course, we brag about our results and our impressive numbers, but it’s the story behind the numbers that is truly meaningful,” say Rachel. One such success story is patient Kitty Speiser, one of the programs early patients. She started the New Direction meal replacement program on April 27, 2016. At that time, she weighed 403 pounds.
