Get to know JoAnn

A native Iowan who grew up in a small rural community in southeastern Iowa, JoAnn Neilson, A.R.N.P., has dedicated more than four decades to providing compassionate, personalized healthcare to women of all ages.

JoAnn began her nursing career by earning her Associate Degree in Nursing before pursuing advanced education through the Advanced Women’s Health Care Program at the University of Texas in Dallas, where she received her Nurse Practitioner degree in Women’s Health. She became nationally certified in Women’s Health Care through the National Certification Corporation (NCC) in 1983.

JoAnn has been practicing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner since 1983 and has been a valued member of The Group since 1990. With extensive experience in women’s healthcare, she is passionate about providing comprehensive, individualized care while building meaningful, lasting relationships with her patients.

In addition to routine annual wellness examinations and preventive healthcare, JoAnn has special interests in infertility and the evaluation and treatment of urinary incontinence. She believes in the importance of patient education, open communication, and empowering women to take an active role in their health and well-being.
