Get to know Annie

Annie Martin, DNP, A.R.N.P., FNP-C, was born and raised in Davenport, IA with some time spent overseas in Germany and Japan. She graduated from Luther College in Decorah, IA with a BA in Nursing in 2012. Since then, she has worked as a nurse and sexual assault nurse examiner in emergency departments at Genesis Davenport, DeWitt, Decorah, IA, Rockford, IL, and the pediatric emergency department at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Aurora. Annie also has pediatric experience at Genesis Illini and within the pediatric intensive care unit at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Annie received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Family Practice from the University of Iowa in August 2023 and is excited to be working at the Group, caring for the women and families of the Quad Cities!

 Let us take a moment to get to know Annie as she explains why she chose a career in women's health...

“I came to the Group initially as a teenager for my health care and then continued as an adult, and with the birth of my child. I was already in nurse practitioner school when I had my daughter and the midwives and physicians at The Group were there to support and care for me.

“I took my work as a SANE very seriously and I want all women, especially in times of vulnerability to feel confident in their healthcare. I love being able to hear a person’s experience and work together to make sure we are treating not just the concern, but the entire picture of how that concern fits into their life. I want to be there for my patients, like my providers have done for me.

“My passion for women’s health, paired with the true JOY one experiences working at The Group, made my decision to join the team a no-brainer!”

Hobbies:

In my free time, I have loved being able to spend time with my daughter and husband! I also enjoy reading, CrossFit, and spending time outdoors throughout every season we see here in the Midwest!
