Aundria Heims, M.S.N., C.N.M., is a proud Quad Cities native, passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based care to women in the very community she has always called home. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Trinity College of Nursing in Rock Island, IL in 2020 and completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Certified Nurse Midwifery at the University of Cincinnati in 2025.

Her journey in women’s health began over seven years ago at UnityPoint Health – Trinity’s Birth Center, where she started as a CNA and later worked as a Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby nurse. These experiences shaped her deep commitment to caring for women throughout all stages of pregnancy and childbirth. Inspired by the midwives she worked alongside, and her own personal birth experiences, Aundria was called to midwifery as both a career and a calling. She is especially passionate about educating and empowering women through every stage of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery.

Aundria brings both clinical expertise and lived experience to her care. Having had a cesarean birth followed by a successful VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), she understands firsthand the emotional and physical aspects of different birth journeys and is dedicated to supporting women through theirs.

Outside of work, Aundria’s world revolves around her family, her husband, and their two young sons. Together, they love spending time outdoors biking, walking, and golfing.

Aundria is honored to support and serve the women of the Quad Cities with personalized, respectful care rooted in trust, education, and advocacy.

Let’s take a moment to get to know Aundria, as she explains why she chose a career in midwifery…

“I quickly learned that providing care to expecting mothers and their newborns brought me great satisfaction,” Heims shares. “My ambition to become a midwife was further enlightened by the births of my two sons. Experiencing the uniqueness and beauty of all the stages of pregnancy and birth, I now know just how life-changing—physically, mentally, and emotionally—childbirth is for women.”

Her own experience with both cesarean and vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) deepened her empathy and shaped her approach:
“It has given me the ability to connect with patients on a higher level, personally understanding the risks and benefits of both deliveries.”

For Aundria, midwifery isn’t just a job, it’s a calling:
“There is not a life path more gratifying or honorable than midwifery. Becoming a midwife is more than a career for me, it is my vocation.”
