Heather was born and raised in Camanche, Iowa. She graduated from Scott Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing.  Heather always wanted to work in the Intensive Care Unit, but after witnessing her first birth she knew that her heart belonged to labor and delivery. While working full-time at Genesis BirthCenter she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of Iowa in 2017. Heather then went on to achieve her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati, graduating in December of 2019.

MORE ABOUT HEATHER...

"As much as I loved being a labor and delivery nurse, I wanted to become a midwife so that I would be able to see women through all aspects of their lives.  From talking to them about birth control to counseling on preconception to seeing that first flicker of the heartbeat at their first OB exam, being there when their baby takes their first breath, seeing them back postpartum, and also continuing to see them for annuals throughout their life.  I cannot wait to form bonds and build relationships with these incredible women, no matter what stage of life they are in.

I am most excited about working at The Group because I am going to be working with a team of amazing individuals who share the same passion and energy for women’s health that I do.  I am hopeful that I will be able to impact women’s lives by providing high quality, empowering, and supportive care. I hope to form partnerships with women so that they know they are an equal member of our team when it comes to treatment plans and important decisions.

I love traveling with my husband, being outdoors, kayaking, gardening, exercising, going for bike rides, and reading.  I love getting lost in a great book!  We have a golden retriever who is our fur baby and we love spending time with her, as well as our family and friends."
