Jana Van Rybroek, D.O., grew up in Iowa City, Iowa. She attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota where she earned an undergraduate degree in Biology. After several years of working in Iowa City as a research assistant in the Department of Otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat) at the University of Iowa and volunteering at a local women’s health clinic and the rape victim advocacy program, Dr. Van Rybroek went to Medical School at Des Moines University. In that time, she was able to complete rotations in Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, Main, Ohio, and Michigan. She completed her residency at a community based hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan about 10 miles south of Flint, Michigan. In her free time, Dr. Van Rybroek enjoys exercising (she has run 6 marathons) and yoga. She also spends as much time as possible with her friends, family, fiancé Matt, and her dog, Gracie.
